About the Collection

The UC Bonnie Cashin Collection is a teaching collection situated in the DAAP Library at the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning. The Cashin Collection comprises over 200 historical garments designed by Bonnie Cashin for Sills and Co. between 1960 and 1980. The steward of the collection, former Unit Head of the DAAP Library, Jennifer Krivickas, has been awarded over $100,000 in internal and external grants to preserve and maintain the collection, document and describe it, and exhibit and engage the collection through a dedicated course that has been offered every spring and fall semester since 2012. The largest of the grants received to date has been in support of research, scholarship, and creative activities that have formed the basis of this globally and freely accessible research resource.
